FlameBuilders

FlameBuilders is a global leadership and spiritual formation institute, formed by Boundless Impact, in partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), Western NC Conference of the United Methodist Church, Bennett College, Greensboro College and High Point University. The creative spark for FlameBuilders was kindled on an interfaith mission study visit to Israel in 2012, where many of the planning team members formed strong bonds of community.
The idea for FlameBuilders launched when Cindy Thompson, Executive Director for Boundless Impact, encountered a book called Boundary Spanning Leadership by Chris Ernst and Donna Chrobot-Mason. Ernst and Mason, both authors and researchers at CCL, wrote the book in response to our world’s growing need for transformational leadership during times of change.
The book made such an impact on Cindy that she began to share it with several people – including those on her trip to Israel and contacts at CCL. As the book was forwarded to Bishop Larry Goodpaster of the United Methodist Church, visions for a unique boundary spanning leadership program with faith formation at the core began coming together. FlameBuilders was launched in September 2014 as a nine-month global, spiritual leadership institute for young adults (ages 21-40).
Consistent with the mission of Boundless Impact, FlameBuilders guides young adults through an incredible journey of boundary spanning leadership, equipping them to connect, mobilize, and achieve faith-based goals in their churches and communities through a measurable “Pathway for Impact.”
Boundless Impact formed in 2012 as a nonprofit organization fostering global connections between North Carolina communities and the world. We support global leadership and engagement initiatives across commerce, education, civic and faith sectors to ensure NC excels in an interconnected world.
Our Mission: Building human bridges by breaking down boundaries:
Connecting collaborative partners
– Mobilizing strategic solutions
– Achieving global common good
