Rev. Robert M. Harris

We have received word of the death of the Rev. Robert Montgomery Harris on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in Hiddenite.  He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Lindsey Summers.  Bob is survived by his wife, Mrs. Joyce Hammer Harris; five children: Cindy Summers, Robin Hill (Nathan), Robert Harris, Jr., Amelia Harris, and Jonathan Harris; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.  A funeral service was held at 2:00pm on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Pisgah UMC, Hiddenite, officiated by the Revs. Mike Duncan, Don Farris, and Bob Swaim, and Dr. Ben Reyes.  Burial followed in the church cemetery with full military honors.  Rev. Harris laid in repose from 10:00am-2:00pm in the church’s family life center, prior to the service on Saturday.  Memorial donations may be made to the Pisgah UMC Building Fund, 488 Hill Farm Rd, Hiddenite, NC 28636; or Hospice and Palliative Care of Iredell County, 2347 Simonton Rd, Statesville, NC 28625.
