Date of Death: 3/9/2020 | Date of Birth: 3/21/1952; | ClergyWe have received word of the Monday, March 9, 2020 death of the Rev. Lawrence Walton Staples, Jr. of Lenoir. Larry is survived by his wife, Donna Hart Staples; two daughters Kelli Brentnell (Jonathan) and Hannah Romero (William); and three grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at 2:00pm, at First United Methodist Church, Lenoir, officiated by the Rev. Dave Melton. A reception will follow the service in the Christian Life Center. Memorial donations may be sent to the Youth Travel Fund or the Backpack Ministry, First UMC, 309 Church Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
