We have received word of the Friday, April 3, 2020 death of the Rev. Rev. Jackuline Bennett “Jack” Porter of Maryville, TN.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Barker Porter; two sons, William Davidson "David" Porter II (Judy) and Peter Bennett Porter (Phyllis); two daughters, Sarah Esther Porter Bigelow (Jay) and Deborah Helen Porter Dickey (Mark); five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Hiwassee College Cemetery, officiated by the Revs. Randy Tingle and Catherine Nance.  A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 3:00pm at First United Methodist Church, 804 Montvale Station Rd, Maryville, NC 37803.  The family will be receiving friends 1:30-3:00pm.  A time of fellowship will follow the service, from 4-5:00pm.  Wearing of masks is strongly encouraged, and children are welcome to attend.  The service will be streamed at https://1stchurch.org/porter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Porter Scholarship Fund, for sending children and youth to Camp Wesley Woods; please send to Mary Thompson, CRM Executive Director, 262 Bart Green Dr, Gray, TN 37615; payable to Holston Conference Camp and Retreat Ministries, with the memo "Porter Scholarship Fund".
