We have received word of the Friday, April 3, 2020 death of the Rev. Jackuline Bennett “Jack” Porter of Maryville, TN.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Barker Porter; two sons, William Davidson "David" Porter II (Judy) and Peter Bennett Porter (Phyllis); two daughters, Sarah Esther Porter Bigelow (Jay) and Deborah Helen Porter Dickey (Mark); five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.  A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Hiwassee College Cemetery, officiated by the Revs. Randy Tingle and Catherine Nance.  A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 3:00pm at First United Methodist Church, 804 Montvale Station Rd, Maryville, TN 37803.  The family will be receiving friends 1:30-3:00pm.  A time of fellowship will follow the service, from 4-5:00pm.  Wearing of masks is strongly encouraged, and children are welcome to attend.  The service will be streamed at https://1stchurch.org/porter. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Porter Scholarship Fund, for sending children and youth to Camp Wesley Woods; please send to Mary Thompson, CRM Executive Director, 262 Bart Green Dr, Gray, TN 37615; payable to Holston Conference Camp and Retreat Ministries, with the memo "Porter Scholarship Fund".
