Date of Death: 10/6/2021 | Date of Birth: 12/11/1934; | ClergyWe have received word of the Wednesday, October 6, 2021 death of the Rev. Gloria Dawn Simmons of Concord. Gloria is survived by her niece, Susan L. Reuler; nephews, Hank Wilson and Lindsay Wilson; great-nieces and nephews; and great-great-nieces and nephews. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at First United Methodist Church of Charlotte at 2:00pm. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. For those planning to attend this service in uptown Charlotte, the entrance to the church parking garage is 163 W. 9th St, Charlotte, NC 28202; please park in any church or unreserved space, and take the sanctuary elevator to "S". The service will be live-streamed at facebook.com/FUMCCharlotte. Gloria’s ashes will be spread in a private, family service at the Lake Junaluska memorial gardens.
