Date of Death: 7/22/2023 | Date of Birth: 7/31/1928; | ClergyWe have received word of the Saturday, July 22, 2023 death of the Rev. Charles George Sherrill of Troutman. George was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Jacqueline Moose Sherrill; one daughter and her husband, Karen and Gene Williamson; one grandson, John Williamson; and two brothers, Mal and Max. He is survived by his children: Kenneth George Sherrill (Karen), Vanessa Jones (Tim), Stephen Ponder Sherrill (Marian), and David Sherrill (Gracia); his grandchildren: Catherine (Bill), Caleb (Jess), Carrie, Tom, Jessica (Chad), Alexis (Kris), Amanda (Justin), Ashlee, and Grayson; twelve great-grandchildren; one brother, Hal; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11:00am at Wesley Chapel UMC, 579 Weathers Creek Rd, Troutman, NC 28166, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10-10:45am.
