Rev. Dr. Jim Gilland

We have received word of the death of the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Conrad “Jim” Gilland, on July 1, 2023.  He is survived by his wife, Glener Burns Gilland; a daughter, Rev. Gina Gilland Campbell (Arch); a son, Joel Andrew Gilland (Tina); two grandchildren, Caroline Gilland and Andrew Gilland; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Gilland and Elaine Gilland.  A Service of Remembrance and Celebration will be held at First United Methodist Church in Salisbury at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 8, 2023.  A private burial will be held.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Jim and Glener Gilland Scholarship, United Methodist Foundation, PO Box 34005, Nashville TN 37203-0005.  The scholarship is awarded to a student at Duke Divinity School from the Western NC Annual Conference.
