We have received word of the death of the Rev. Dr. Albert Joseph Daniel Aymer on Friday, November 5, 2021.  He is survived by his former wife, Shirley; three daughters: Margaret Aymer Oget (spouse Laurent), Valerie Elizabeth Aymer, and Ann-Marie Millinette Aymer (spouse Kristen Claire Foley); and his grandson, Gabriel Albert Charles Oget.  The first of three memorial services will be held at South Orange-Vailsburg United Methodist Church in South Orange, NJ on December 11, 2021 at 11:00 am.  An additional memorial service and interment will be held at Ebenezer Methodist Church in St. John's, Antigua on January 6, 2022 at 10:00 am.  A celebration of life and service of interment for the Rev. Dr. Aymer will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2022 at 1:00pm at Hood Theological Seminary in the Albert J.D. Aymer Center for Spiritual Growth and Ministerial Formation, 1810 Lutheran Synod Dr, Salisbury, NC 28144.  The family will receive friends following the service.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Albert J. While Rev. Dr. Aymer’s relationship with the Western North Carolina Conference was only during retirement, beginning with his transfer from Greater New Jersey in 2014, he had a 20-year relationship with Hood Seminary, first as the Dean from 1994-2001, and then as President, 2001-2014.  Prior to that, Dr. Aymer served for fourteen years as Associate Dean at Drew Theological Seminary, and pastored local churches in New Jersey.
