Rev. Alexander M. Alvord

We have received word of the Wednesday, August 11, 2021 death of the Rev. Alexander Mapes “Alec” Alvord of Givens Estates, Asheville.  He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Weems “Dot” Alvord; three children: Karen Stevens, Lee Alvord (Tanya), and the Rev. Veranita Alvord (Rev. Joe Tarpley); his grandchildren: Megan, Josh, Olivia, and Ivan; and a bonus family: Kwabena (Kay) and Cecilia Apau-Kese, and their children: AJ, Alvord, and Adriel.  Alec was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jimmy Stevens.  A celebration of life service was held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 1:00pm at the Norma F. Pulliam Chapel of Givens Estates, with Rev.
