Date of Death: 7/3/2018 | Date of Birth: 9/16/1946; | ClergyOur office has received word of the Tuesday, July 3, 2018 death of the Rev. Dr. Earl Wilson, Jr., former Charlotte District Superintendent and resident of Monroe, NC. Earl is survived by his wife, Doris Kinlaw Wilson; his son, Earl Wilson, III (wife, Camilla); daughter, Lindy Overstreet; and four grandchildren. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects at 5:30 pm on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Wesley Chapel UMC, 120 Potter Road South, Wesley Chapel, NC, followed by a small memorial service at 6:00 pm. A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 am at Mount Tabor UMC, 3543 Robinhood Road, Winston Salem, NC. A reception will follow in the Family Life Center. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made in Earl's memory to Wesley Chapel UMC (PO Box 2524, Wesley Chapel, NC 28111) or Central UMC (801 S Hayne St, Monroe, NC 28112) or Mount Tabor UMC (3543 Robinhood Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27106).
