Mrs. Sara G. McWhorter

We have received word of the Tuesday, December 14, 2021 death of Mrs. Sara Cornelia Grubbs McWhorter at Givens Estates in Asheville.  Sara was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. John L. McWhorter, and her second husband, Mr. Tracy McFarlan.  She is survived by her two children: Fred McWhorter (Michelle Odom) and Beth McWhorter (Tom Coward); nephews: Chris (Anne), John (Valerie), Steve (Donna), Jim (Melody), Margaret Lois (Harry), Roseanne, and Med (Cindy); and many great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; as well as her MacFarlan family: Susan McFarlan (James), John McFarlan (Jan), and Lynn McFarlan-Randall (Christopher).  A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date at https://www.grocefuneralhome.com/obits/sara-cornelia-grubbs-mcwhorter/.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Lake Junaluska Assembly – Lake, Grounds & Recreation Fund, The Office of Development, PO Box 67, Lake Junaluska, NC 28745 (https://www.lakejunaluska.com/support/donate/annual_fund/).
