Mrs. Geneva M. Proffitt

We have received word of the Friday, November 12, 2021 death of Mrs. Geneva Bell Main Proffitt of Mount Airy.  Mrs. Proffitt was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Baxter William Proffitt; a son, David Baxter Proffitt; and a grandson, Seth Kernodle.  She is survived by her daughters: Julia Ann Proffitt Owenby, Margaret Proffitt Des Roches, Barbara Proffitt Blood (Larry), and Gail Proffitt; a son: Charles Harrison Proffitt; eleven grandchildren: Stephen (Betsy), Mary Leigh (Ben), Richard (Tabitha), Tessa, Matthew (Allison), Andrew, Michelle (Tyler), Kelly, Charlie, Taylor, and Daniel; nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Joseph Ronda Main (Jane); and numerous nieces and nephews.  A funeral service will be held on Monday, November 15, 2021, at 11:00am at Moody Funeral Home Chapel in Mount Airy with the Revs. Danny Miller and John Ji Choi officiating.  Burial will take place later the same day, at 3:30pm in the Hopewell Community Church Cemetery in Boone.  The family will receive friends on Monday, November 15, 2021, from 10:00-11:00am at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy.
