Mrs. Evelyn D. Hawkins

We have received word of the Friday, January 4, 2019 death of Mrs. Evelyn Grace Diggs Hawkins of Asheville.  She is survived by her husband, the Rev. W. Thornton Hawkins, and two daughters: Patrice Hawkins Sigmon (Allen) and Catherine Hawkins Hoffman (Roger).  She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lauren.  A private service of committal was held.  A celebration of life service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Pulliam Chapel of Givens Estates, 100 Wesley Dr, Asheville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Lauren Sigmon Internship Fund at the Karen Beasley Sea Turtle Rescue and Rehabilitation Center, PO Box 2095, Surf City, NC 28445.
