When the frost is on the punkin...”

James Whitcomb Riley didn’t know October in Charlotte - rarely frost - but lots of pumpkins. Leah Steadman/Director, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church Child Development Center, started a new tradition for youngsters in 2015. Each year since, there’s been a Pumpkin Patch at 917 Clanton Road in Charlotte. Pick a pumpkin for pie, roasted seeds or a Jack-O-Lantern!! It’s up to our little pumpkin people...

“O it sets my heart a-clickin‘ like the tickin’ of a clock, when the frost is on the punkin and the fodder’s in the shock!”
