Committee on Relief and Niner United help with Disaster Response at UNCC

April 13, 2020

University officials at UNC Charlotte are readying six residence halls in South Village to stage a massive field hospital or stable quarantine housing as needed for COVID-19 response. At the onset, Niner United, the United Methodist-related campus ministry, was asked by the university to provide relief for students, staff, and faculty. The Committee on Relief assisted by providing its truck, trailer, water, and a staging tent to help. As the plans develop, the conference may be called on to assist in hospitality efforts. If anyone is interested in volunteering, please first connect with the point-of-contact, the campus pastor Rev. Steve Cheyney. steve@ninerunited.org
