Church Development Offers Assistance for Streaming Worship
In response to the rapid spread of COVID-19, Bishop Leeland has recommended to suspend public worship until the end of March. In order to facilitate continued worship during this time the Church Development office is offering the following resources to help churches transition to online streaming and online giving.

  1. Facebook Live: Facebook live is the easiest and most accessible free streaming service. Facebook Live can be recorded with a smartphone in just a few clicks. As long as the stream is set to public, church members with the web address will not need a Facebook account to watch. Follow these step by step instructions for set up here.
  1. For congregations with a large percentage of members without internet connection or computer access this is a great option. By signing up you will receive a free phone number that church members can call into, enter a passcode, and connects the host with up to 1,000 participants. You can sign up here.
  1. This is by far the most comprehensive and user-friendly option for church meetings. Zoom is a video conferencing application with the capability for users to phone in, making this another option for smaller congregations to worship together. The Church Development Office will pay for a Zoom Pro account for churches in our conference from now until July 1, 2020. (One free Zoom account per church.) Register to receive a free Pro Version account here
  1. Stripe: This is an online giving platform that many of our churches are already using. Set up is relatively easy. There is a 2.9% plus 30 cents transaction fee for every donation, but no monthly fees or hidden fees. You will need to enter your bank account information to receive deposits. To sign up click here.
Apply Today: If your congregation would like a free three month subscription to Zoom Pro or a phone call with someone to help you set up any of these applications please click here.
Attention Techies: If you are familiar with any of these four platforms and would be willing to field phone calls to assist churches in our conference in getting them set up please click here.
