BMCR Sunday is scheduled for February 4th
January 23, 2018
Black Methodists for Church Renewal, Inc. (BMCR) has embarked on a fundraising effort to move our organization toward self sufficiency. As we celebrate our 51st year, we are focusing on securing our potential for future ministry. We are doing this important work in partnership with the United Methodist Church Development Center and Methodistas Asociados Reprensentando la Causa de Hispano Americanos (MARCHA).
We have established an aggressive fund raising goal of $125,000 for 2018 so that BMCR will be self-sufficient by the end of this Quadrennium. Our strategy has involved reaching out to conferences for gifts to BMCR this year, as well as reaching out to local congregations and individuals.
As a part of our local church strategy, and to strengthen the relationship of BMCR to African-American congregations, we are promoting a BMCR Sunday on February 4, 2018, and invite African American churches in your conference to hold a second offering on this Sunday. We hope that you will support our efforts, and assist us by proposing not only African-American churches in your conference for this initiative, but others as well that have established ministries serving the African-American community.
You will find examples of the BMCR Sunday materials attached, and please share feedback with us as we promote the first BMCR Sunday. Thank you for your assistance in promoting BMCR Sunday in your conference.
Peace and blessings,
