2024 Apportionments Are Now Posted!
|
The 2024 General Church, Conference, and District Apportionments for all churches are posted to the Church Dashboards! These become effective January 1, 2024. Please advise Treasury Services of any errors or questions.
In 2024, we used a different method to calculate apportionment amounts. We took your 2023 apportionment amounts and applied a 2% reduction on both the Conference and General funds before rounding. This means that each church should expect a decrease of around 2% in their Conference and General fund apportionments. District apportionments remain frozen from 2023 to 2024.
Please note that due to rounding, the decrease may not be exactly 2%.

Register for the Mandatory RISE! Antiracism Ethics Training
|
Antiracism Ethics Training is the Clergy Ethics Training for the quadrennium through June 2024, and thus it is mandatory for all clergy in the Western North Carolina Conference. The training will be facilitated by RISE! (Race: an In-depth Spiritual Examination) trainers. Each clergy person is to have a lay leader participate in the training. This inclusion of laity will foster more effective change in congregational culture.
The remaining RISE! Workshops for 2023 and 2024 are listed at the link below.

Treasury Services Letter to Retirees and Spouses on Duke Endowment Banking Information
|
Dear Retired friends and Spouses,
You may have received a letter from me related to the annual Duke Endowment distributions and requesting permission from the United Methodist Foundation to receive banking information for Electronic Funds Delivery. This letter went out while I was at annual conference, without my final proof. I do apologize for the clumsy way it reads. But the intent is legitimate. We want to avoid sending out any paper checks for the Duke grant as much as possible. The card was simply to be checked that you would give permission for the UM Foundation to forward your information to use on a secured basis. You may return the enclosed card to the PO Box. If you choose not to want the foundation to forward, you may send to Treasury Services a voided check for the same purposes to PO Box 2757 Huntersville NC, 28070
This is not a scam. But if you prefer to handle a different way than these two options, please email or write to me what you prefer to do.
