Give to the AC2023 Offering
|
The AC2023 Offering will be shared equally with two exceedingly worthy causes: The start of new churches in Ukraine following the war and the creation of trauma responsive, healing centered faith communities.
Churches are encouraged to take an offering ahead of Annual Conference for these ministries or make an offering from the church budget. Checks can be made payable to “WNCC Treasurer” and mailed to the WNC Conference Center at P. O. Box 2757, Huntersville, NC 28070 or make a donation through the website. Clergy and Lay delegates may also bring an offering from their church to Annual Conference.

Means of Grace Podcast: Will There Be a Place For Me in The UMC?
|
RE-AIR - In this week’s episode, we get to listen in on a conversation that took place during the 2022 Annual Conference. On Thursday evening, Bishop Carter, along with a group of clergy from across the conference, of various races, ages, genders, and ministry roles sat down for a panel discussion on the future of the UMC. Their goal was to answer a question you may have asked yourself a time or two – will there be a place for me in the continuing United Methodist Church?

Last Chance to Register for AC2023 Childcare!
|
ATTENTION PARENTS ATTENDING AC2023!! Childcare registration ends June 1!!
Ministry doesn't have to be left to adult leaders alone. Children of all ages contribute to the community of faith and have the capacity to call out God's work in their neighborhoods. In order to foster young, missional minds, the 2023 Annual conference will offer a family friendly program option: The Neighbor Way* Camp for kids. This multi-session offering will help kids understand that the church is not only what happens on a stage, but what's happening in the streets of their community.
With games, crafts, stories, snacks, and songs, Neighbor Way Kids Camp will give kids a glimpse at how God works in the world, and teach them some principles and practices that increase their participation in this good news.

The Listening Post is Back For AC2023
|
Partners in Health and Wholeness in collaboration with CareNet Counseling are offering listening sessions and mental health assessments at the Annual Conference.
Clergy and laity continue to experience high burnout rates, as well as high rates of anxiety, stress and depression. A foundation of our wholeness is mental health, which includes our individual and community-wide mental health. Faith leaders and faith communities are not only impacted by mental health concerns but have an incredible opportunity to foster compassion and inclusion for all.
Our hope is to provide a space for clergy and laity to talk with a certified therapist, counselor, and/or social worker who can provide a space for listening, a space for providing some direction of what next, on the spot anxiety and stress self-assessments, and advice on how to navigate the referral services available through conference health insurance plans.
