Western North Carolina Conference of The UMC Releases Preliminary Results of Disaffiliation Vote, 192 Churches Approved for Disaffiliation
|
With less than 50 paper ballots still out, the Conference issued a provisional statement that the motion passed with approximately 96% of the vote approving the disaffiliations and approximately 4% disapproving. The 192 churches, representing about 15 percent of the membership of the Conference, will be allowed to continue with the disaffiliation process as laid out in Paragraph 2553 of The United Methodist Book of Discipline.

The WNCC Congregations for Children (C4C) and Creation Care will host a training for churches in partnership with the NC Conservation Fund on youth programming. Training will highlight environmental education tactics allowing for C4C and Creation Care teams to partner for this outreach.
This event will take place at Oak Grove UMC in Mocksville, NC on June 6, 2023 from 10 am to 4 pm.
