Mentoring Pew Sitters Into Servant Leaders
|
It can be discouraging finding a church of pew-sitters when we need servant leaders. Too often persons are content to sit and absorb rather than to rise up and serve.
Join this peer learning group led by Rev. Dr. Michael Kurtz on February 27-28 at the Conference Office in Huntersville.

A project from Duke’s Clergy Health Initiative is teaching evidence-based stress reduction techniques to help North Carolina ministers cope with the physical and mental demands of their calling. Read the article to learn how four UMC pastors benefitted from these techniques.

How to Handle a Money Crisis in Your Church (or Simply the Fear of One)
|
The Foundation invites clergy and lay leaders to hear from a leading voice on church stewardship.
Margaret Marcuson is the author of Leaders Who Last: Sustaining Yourself and Your Ministry as well as Money and Your Ministry: Balance the Books While Keeping Your Balance.
Leadership in financial matters, Margaret says, doesn’t mean balancing the checkbook or creating the monthly reports. It's about inviting people to support God’s work in the church and the world — for their own sake as well as for the sake of the ministry.
