By: Keep running (or walking) with the WNCC Emory Club
The WNCC Emory Club is hosting a VIRTUAL 5K and inaugural "Journey to the Cross Challenge."
Complete the Virtual 5K anytime between August 1-8th on any course and at any speed.
The Journey to the Cross Challenge takes you 140 miles on a virtual course from the Conference Center in Huntersville all the way to the Cross on Inspiration Point at Lake Junaluska. Log those miles from July 1-August 8th, you can run, ride, bike, swim, or walk to get from the Conference Center to Lake Junaluska!
We will give out prizes and T-Shirts at the In-Person meeting of the Annual Conference on August 8th. (Time and Place TBA)
This year all of our proceeds go to NETworX USA. NETworX USA is a national movement to measurably reduce poverty at its holistic core. The strategy is based on building well-being together, rather than well-doing for others. It is individuals and communities building intentional relationships through education and love of neighbor as well as love of self. This program offers a model for building relationships across the lines that divide us (whether racial, cultural, economic) so that we can all move towards a fuller, richer life. Learn more about NETworX on our Facebook page (WNCC Emory Club 5K at The Lake). Churches and communities have been encouraged to support and be in ministry with those in NETworX initiative by both the WNCC Annual Conference and the General Conference.
Don't want to run? That's OK! You can walk, stroll, skip, or meander your way through whatever course you have. If you don't want to race, we still encourage you to donate to NETworX USA this year, click the "DONATE" button at the top of the race page and visit our Facebook page (WNCC Emory Club 5K at The Lake) to learn more.
Run or walk and have fun with your friends and family!
