Good Grief: the Journey to Healing and Wholeness After Loss

January 8, 2019

Good Grief Group beginning in January at Marvin UMC

Many who have experienced loss, the death of a loved one, the loss of a career, or the ending of a marriage or other partnership want to translate feelings into some kind of action, but do not know exactly what they can do. A feeling of helplessness often accompanies loss. Writing, particularly poetry, provides a way to voice feelings in sometimes surprising ways.  Join us for “Good Grief,” beginning January 29th at 10 a.m. at Marvin United Methodist Church.  We will explore creative ways to help each of us use written verse, our own, and that of others, to voice our feelings and help us on the journey.  Emphasis will be on the process, not the product of our work together.  No experience writing is required.  Sharing will be an invitation, not an obligation. The facilitator will use her own body of work, poetry about grief, loss, and lament, to invite conversation and introspection.   Questions?  Email:  pastoramy@marvinmethodist.com
