The Western NC Conference Announces Changes to Conference Staff

May 5, 2022

The Western NC Conference announces the following staff changes effective May 9, 2022.

Melissa McGill, who has served as the Conference Director of Communications for four years, has accepted a new position as the Senior Marketing Director of Impact and Development at the YMCA of Greater Charlotte. "It is always hard to leave a position that has been so fulfilling and has helped me grow so much professionally and personally," Melissa said. "I’m grateful for the leadership of Bishop Carter, Bishop Leeland, Amy Coles, and the rest of the conference staff team and I’m incredibly proud of the work we’ve done together.”

Aimee Yeager will transition to a new role on the conference staff as she steps into the position of WNCC Director of Communications. Aimee has served on the conference communications team for two years, most recently as the Associate Director of Communications. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Communications from Kennesaw State University and a Master of Divinity from Mercer University McAfee School of Theology. She has served in denominational offices in communications as well as on staff at churches for eleven years. Her husband John is pastor of Christ UMC and Mount Tabor UMC both in Salisbury.

Aimee will begin acting as Director of Communications on Monday, May 9, 2022. Melissa's final day on the WNC Conference staff will be Friday, May 13, 2022, allowing for a week of overlap and training to ensure a smooth transition.

With gratitude for her years of service, we wish Melissa all the best in her future endeavors and look forward to continuing ministry with Aimee as she transitions into this role.
