Rediscovering the Heart of Methodism: Nurturing Entrepreneurial Mindsets

The Office of Wesleyan Engagement at Duke Divinity School is excited to share a new resource with you. Nurturing Entrepreneurial Mindsets is a free 4-week course that explores Methodism’s rich history of innovation to help imagine fresh ways individuals and churches can bear witness to the reign of God. Featuring video lessons from Dean Edgardo Colón-Emeric, Dean Emeritus Greg Jones, Dr. Laceye Warner, and Bishop Ken Carter, the course is designed as a group experience for small groups, classes, and leadership development. Nurturing Entrepreneurial Mindsets is the first in a series of courses called Rediscovering the Heart of Methodism. Shaped by leaders from nine United Methodist annual conferences, the series is designed to help engaged laypeople and clergy develop core capacities for innovative leadership within the Wesleyan tradition. Look for more Rediscovering the Heart of Methodism courses from Duke Divinity School over the coming months.

“The emphasis on the rediscovery of the vibrant and engaging heart of Methodism is connected to our emphasis on Unity in Christ," says Dr. Jung Choi, Senior Director of the Wesleyan Formation Initiatives at Duke Divinity School. "The rest of four mini-courses for the RHM will be released next year. We are also preparing to offer the Rediscovering the Heart of Methodism curriculum in various languages.”
