November Cabinet Recap - Building The Church For The Future

November 14, 2018

At the November 14 meeting of the Extended Cabinet, Bishop Leeland celebrated signs of hope moving us into the years ahead. The United Methodist Church will continue serving, worshiping and answering our call to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world for years to come.

From our conference disaster relief response to seminary debt reduction programs to the 80+ commissioned clergy preparing for ordination, the Cabinet shared signs of light and hope moving us into the future of the Church.

The Mission Engagement Team is piloting a mission cohort, beginning in January, to change the missional imagination in our conference from relief to empowerment.

The United Methodist Foundation recently reached an all time high of managed assets and received a Lilly Endowment grant for a new financial literacy program for mid-career clergy.

The work of the Extended Cabinet focused on strengthening the day-to-day ministry of local churches and clergy across the Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church.
