FAITH IN RURAL COMMUNITIES
Relational Ministries: Finding God In Our Neighbor Webinar
Thursday, September 16, 2021
10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. EDT
via Zoom
How can your church see its community as co-creators of ministry? De’Amon Harges, Mike Mather, and Seana Murphy transformed their church and their Indianapolis neighborhood by looking for their neighbors’ assets instead of only seeing their needs. They will share their stories and give you practical tips on how to transform your church's outreach to the community.
Everyone present at this webinar will receive a free Kindle copy of Having Nothing, Possessing Everything: Finding Abundant Communities in Unexpected Places by Mike Mather.

5:30-7:00pm EDT

The Rural Center is offering this free opportunity to rural churches in NC. This course explores biblical views on and responses to material poverty. It will examine the nature and dimensions of economic inequality in the biblical world and how that reality is addressed by various parts of Scripture, from the Law and Prophets to the Gospels and Acts. Emphasis will be placed on how churches can use biblical frameworks to develop more just, effective, and transformative approaches to poverty in their own communities.
This course is offered in partnership with The Candler Foundry. Courses in the Community program offers students in-depth learning opportunities situated at the intersection of the church and academy. Learn more by visiting candlerfoundry.emory.edu/courses
