Pfeiffer University-Charlotte welcomes Rev. Dr. Timothy S. Moore as associate dean and campus and continuing education coordinator
February 7, 2017
Pfeiffer University announces the addition of the Reverend Doctor Timothy S. Moore as associate dean and campus and continuing education coordinator for its Charlotte location.
In this newly created role, Rev. Dr. Moore will report to the provost and work in partnership with academic deans to identify and create new opportunities for expanding the university’s continuing education programs. In addition, he will oversee operations for the Charlotte campus, a role that is especially significant as Pfeiffer’s Charlotte campus prepares to move early this summer to its new location at 1515 Mockingbird Lane (at Park Road), a decision that was announced in October 2016.
“With Pfeiffer University’s longstanding relationship with the city of Charlotte and presence in the South Park neighborhood in particular, Rev. Dr. Moore, who brings two decades of community engagement and constituency building experience, is well-suited to deepen existing connections and establish new ones,” said Dr. Colleen Perry Keith, president. “At the same time, his comprehensive teaching experience offers insight into the needs of our diverse degree-completion student population and faculty members.”
Rev. Dr. Moore, an ordained elder and transitional deacon of The United Methodist Church (UMC), Western North Carolina Conference, comes directly from the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, UMC, as director of collegiate ministry resources and training. Previous experience and appointments include administrative, teaching and ministerial positons with Young Harris College, British Methodist Church, The Wesley Foundation and Salem-Epworth Charge. Other pertinent professional affiliations include serving as an executive board member for the International Association of Methodist-related Schools, Colleges and Universities, among other affiliations. Education credentials include master of letters, biblical studies and contemporary issues, and postgraduate studies, University of St. Andrews, Scotland; doctor of ministry, social justice, Hood Theological Seminary; master of divinity, The Divinity School, Duke University; and bachelor of science, religion and philosophy, Greensboro College.
