Partners in Health and Wholeness (PHW) Certification Program Now Open for 2016

June 27, 2016

NCCC-health-and-wholenessSince the launch of the PHW Certification Program in 2009, over 350 congregations representing more than 70,000 people across NC have participated in activities designed to add years – abundant years – to the lives of the people in their congregations and communities. We are inviting congregations to join us on this journey for 2016. Partners in Health and Wholeness works with local faith communities to effect positive change for their own congregation that can be leveraged to influence change throughout the surrounding community.  We have 4 major focus areas:  healthy eating, physical activity, smoking cessation, and mental health awareness. Our certification process opened on February 09, 2016 and will be open until October 31, 2016. If your congregation certifies, that makes your congregation eligible for a mini-grant. This year’s mini-grant cycle will be open June 1, 2016 – June 30, 2016 and January 1, 2017 – January 31, 2017. Visit our website healthandwholeness.org. There are three levels of certification: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Your congregation is free to choose the level that best fits your congregation’s current goals and activities. For more information, to schedule an informational session, or to schedule a presentation connecting faith and health contact Nicole Johnson at 828-767-0181 or nicole@nccouncilofchurches.org. Thank you to those who came to visit our booth at annual conference this year!
