Partners in Health and Wholeness (PHW) Certification deadline extended to November 15

October 31, 2016

NCCC-health-and-wholenessSince the launch of the PHW Certification Program in 2009, over 350 congregations representing more than 70,000 people across NC have participated in activities designed to add years – abundant years – to the lives of the people in their congregations and communities. We are inviting congregations to join us in considering what it means to think about health in the context of their faith. Maybe it means learning more about the health priorities in their community, developing a health and wellness committee, planting a community garden, developing healthier food pantry guidelines, creating and hosting workshops/exercise classes/end of life care training, or becoming better stewards of creation. Our faith can help us develop practical ways and inspired ministries that reiterate the care that God has for our communities. Partners in Health and Wholeness works with local faith communities to effect positive change for their own congregation that can be leveraged to influence change throughout the surrounding community.  Our certification year opened on February 09, 2016 and the deadline has now been extended to November 15, 2016. To be eligible for our mini-grant cycle in January, your certification application must be received by November 15, 2016. The upcoming mini-grant cycle will be open January 02, 2017 – January 31, 2017. Visit our website healthandwholeness.org and hover over programs to see the different application levels. There are three levels of certification: Bronze, Silver and Gold. Your congregation is free to choose the level that best fits your congregation’s current goals and ministry activities.
