Barnabas Weekend is April 15-17
January 13, 2016
Join in a weekend at Camp Tekoa designed for those with developmental disabilities.
A group of clergy friends and dedicated church volunteers are planning a weekend event for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at Camp Tekoa for April 15-17th. The cost of the event for campers is $10, and for volunteers $30 ($60 for families who volunteer together).
Barnabas is known for showing great kindness to Saul (apostle Paul) and his Hebrew name translates to “son of encouragement.” The hope is to extend such encouragement and kindness to Barnabas campers as they encourage us.
Campers enjoy activities such as boating, hiking, zipline, arts & crafts, devotions and talent show performances. Each camper is partnered with a special friend who remains by their side throughout the week offering encouragement and care for eating, sleeping and all the fun in between.
Barnabas campers should be ambulatory and must be able to feed, bathe, and clothe themselves.
Sure to be a weekend of fun and learning, for campers and volunteers, Camp Barnabas is all about spending time together, making new friendships, and learning about God's love by sharing it with each other! Information about the weekend plus downloadable and printable flyers and registration forms are available at:

Registrations for campers or volunteers can be mailed in or submitted online. The event is limited to the first 50 campers and first 80 volunteers. Financial support is gratefully accepted from individuals, churches, church groups, or businesses to help make this camp an annual event that can grow! Youth groups and families are invited to volunteer together.
