Community Carnival at Mission First in Reidsville

CarnivalFirst United Methodist Church in Reidsville offiicially merged with Woodmont UMC on Easter Sunday 2015. The building at First UMC is now used as a Mission Center in downtown Reidsville. United Way, UMAR and Rockingham County Children’s Advocacy  are all moving in as renters this fall.  The pre-school that was already meeting there prior to the merger continues to serve the community. They began a Monday Night Live worship service and free meal on June 1and it now exceeds 140 in weekly attendance.  Rev. Morris Brown is the pastor at Woodmont and leads the Monday Night Live service at Mission First. On Saturday, August 22, they had a Community Carnival and they gave away over 450 back packs filled with school supplies to children and teens.  There were also over 450 free hot dog meals served to the community. Mission First provided bounce houses, games, and activities, and live music for the day. Reidsville Fire and Police departments sent personnel and vehicles.
