UM Men Send Letter to AME Men's President
June 24, 2015
Mr. George Brown, president
Sons of Allen
208 Sweet Gum Road
Columbia, SC 29223
Dear President Brown,
At this time of mourning and sorrow, please know that your brothers in Christ in The United Methodist Church stand arm in arm and shoulder to shoulder with our Methodist brothers in the AME Church. We are one in unity, one in the Spirit, one in brotherhood.
Know that we feel your loss and pain for we share a common history and a common bond as sisters and brothers in Christ. We continue to hold you and your members and families in constant prayer and supplication and know that our God is able to sustain us at a time like this. May this tragedy draw us closer together as the Body of Christ.
“…be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against …the powers of this dark world and the spiritual forces of evil… Ephesians 6:11-12 (NIV)
May God continue to bless us as we strive to live lives worthy of His calling.
Many blessings and prayers-
Neil Brown, president, United Methodist Men
