Faith & Food: Come To The Table In Action
|
Come to the Table’s mission is to empower faith communities to participate in the creation of a just food system through collaboration, capacity building, and advocacy. The program connects churches with farmers, gardeners, educators, health professionals and nonprofits to find ways to relieve hunger and support local agriculture. Over the years, regional and statewide conferences have brought together these stakeholders and others to develop and promote solutions to food insecurity. Come to the Table is a program of RAFI-USA and is supported by The Duke Endowment.

When we began The Big Silence Retreat in 2013, we had no idea that it would become such a blessing to so many people. Over 200 people have participated, many returning for multiple years. As we look forward to the next chapter, some things will remain familiar while new options will be added. You are still invited to experience big spaces of solitude and silence in community for the purpose of tending the inner fire of your soul. This 4-day mostly silent retreat will now be grounded in the writings of Ruth Haley Barton's Invitation to Solitude and Silence and new prayer resources and prayer stations will be offered. Perhaps the greatest new feature will be a summer retreat option.
The next Big Silence Retreat will be on July 5-8.
