The Western North Carolina Conference Online Winter Leadership Training (January 23-26, 2023) is designed for and open to all local church leaders including lay leaders, council members, volunteers, and all who lead (or are considering future leadership!). This is an opportunity to connect with other leaders across the conference and learn about roles, best practices, and new ideas for ministry. We are excited to reveal our great line-up of topics and presenters, and that Bishop Ken Carter will be our keynote speaker!

"Stories of Faith" 2022 WNCC Digital Magazine is Now Available!
|
We are so excited to announce that the Annual WNCC "Stories of Faith" Digital Magazine is now live! This 2022 issue includes a snapshot of faith during this year and highlights inspiring stories of mission and ministry from around our Conference.
This year we are introducing a digital magazine! In it you will find videos, clickable links, a podcast episode, and more. For those wanting a hard copy, we will make one that excludes the elements listed above. Please email Lindsay Hampton if you would like a hard copy.

2023 Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration "It Starts with Me: The Quest to Create the Beloved Community"
|
The Western North Carolina Conference will host its annual Martin Luther King Commemoration Service on January 14, 2023. The time is 10:00AM-11:30AM.
It will be hosted on the Zoom Platform, FB Live and YouTube Live.
The theme of the event is: It Starts with Me: The Quest to Create the Beloved Community. The focus scripture is Micah 6:8. The keynote speaker will be M. Garlinda Burton, Director for Resource Development for the denomination’s General Commission on Religion and Race.

WNCC Youth Ministry Network R&R (Retreat & Resources)

January 2023 presents our fourth Youth Ministry Network Retreat & Resources! This retreat will kickoff 2023 and provide opportunities for networking, soul care, learning, and fun.
When: Monday, January 30 - Wednesday, February 1
Where: Catholic Conference Center in Hickory

Apply Today for the WNCC Associate Director of Ministerial Services Position
|
The Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director of Ministerial Services. This position reports directly to the Director of Ministerial Services, and would be located at 13924 Professional Center Dr, Suite 200, Huntersville, North Carolina. This is full-time, exempt position.
**The deadline to apply is January 15!**

Beginning on January 1, 2023, the standard mileage rates for the use of a car (also vans, pickups or panel trucks) will be:
- 65.5 cents per mile driven for business use, up 3 cents from the midyear increase setting the rate for the second half of 2022.
- 22 cents per mile driven for medical or moving purposes for qualified active-duty members of the Armed Forces, consistent with the increased midyear rate set for the second half of 2022.
- 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations; the rate is set by statute and remains unchanged from 2022.
