A Message of Hope From Bishop Carter
|
Take a look at this Advent Message from Bishop Carter as we begin the first week of Advent.
This past Sunday, we lit the first candle - the candle of Hope. The Israelites' hoped that the promised Messiah would come. They had been waiting for the Messiah for centuries, wondering what he would look like and what he would do when he arrived. When Jesus was born, that hope was finally fulfilled – “a prophet like you” (Deuteronomy 18:15) had come. What are you hopeful for this Christmas season?

End of Year Reports Launch January 1, 2023
|
YEAR END REPORTING will be launched January 1, 2023 for 2022 statistical data.
The General Council on Finance and Administration in Nashville has discontinued EZRA in favor of a new platform, ACStats. A training video will be forthcoming on how to access and use. It will be very similar to all other conference reporting. The questions (we will be using Tables 1, 2 and 3 fully this year) are the same.
Due to the change in look however, we will extend the deadline for final reports to be due to February 15, 2023. Look for more information soon.

WNCC Hosts 2022 Haiti Summit
|
The WNCCUMC recently hosted a summit for churches working in Northern Haiti. Ongoing political unrest in the country and the COVID-19 pandemic have kept many ministry and mission groups from traveling to Haiti for several years. Windy Previl, in-country director of the Cap Haitien Ministry Center (CHMC), was flown in to join the meeting to help participants strategize how best to continue in ministry when their presence is not possible. Representatives of churches and organizations from North Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Missouri and Alabama participated in the two-day summit.
