Bishop Carter Remains the Bishop of The WNCC
|
Bishop Ken Carter will remain the Bishop of The Western NC Conference.
Welcome home! We are excited to continue to work with Bishop Carter!
Effective January 1, 2023, Bishop Carter will end his residency at the FL Conference and be full time with The WNC Conference.

SEJ Conference Elects Three New Bishops
|
November 1-4, 14 Conferences met at Lake Junaluska for the Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference with the primary goal being to elect three new bishops of The UMC.
On the 4th ballot, Rev. Tom Berlin from the Virginia Conference was elected a bishop in the SEJ. Bishop Berlin is assigned to serve the Florida Conference starting in January.
On the 12th ballot, Rev. Dr. Connie Shelton from the Mississippi Conference was elected a bishop in the SEJ. Bishop Shelton is assigned to serve the North Carolina Conference starting in January.
On the 25th ballot, Rev. Dr. Robin Dease from the South Carolina Conference was elected a bishop in the SEJ. Bishop Dease is assigned to serve the North Georgia Conference starting in January.

Western NC Conference Will Host General Conference in 2024
|
The Commission on the General Conference announced that the 2024 United Methodist General Conference will be held April 23 – May 3, 2024, at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
