2020 Clergy Assessments Have Been Released

September 1, 2020

Information about the 2020 Clergy Assessments has been emailed to clergy and S/PPRC chairs this week.

The initial focus of this assessment regards the clergy’s leadership during the current pandemic.  We know that during this unprecedented time, clergy have had to adapt to a new reality.  They are preparing for online or on-the-phone worship, conducting virtual meetings and Bible studies, offering pastoral care in new ways, and providing safe missional opportunities to care for the needs of the community.  In such a time as this, measuring progress and assessing growth can be challenging. Some clergy may doubt their effectiveness.  More than ever, pastors need to hear about their strengths as well as their areas for growth as they lead the congregation forward in new ways.  Please take the time to give them honest feedback and encouraging support.

Remember, it’s the S/PPRC’s role to help our clergy be the best that they can be in leading the church to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of lives, communities, and the world.

Assessments are to be completed by October 31, 2020.
