Accompanist Job Description
Center United Methodist Church
 
The accompanist will be a person of genuine Christian character and shall conduct themselves as such. They will have the ability to work as a team along with the choir/praise team leader and worship leaders. All staff must understand they are spiritual leaders for the congregation and thus making disciples for Jesus Christ.

The accompanist will be responsible for preparation of various musical pieces provided to them prior to practice and worship for various services. They will be expected to assist the moving of the people into the presence of God through song and worship. It will be essential to work with the various pastors to insure continuity and stability.

Responsibilities also include:
Preparation for Chancel Choir practice.
Play for Chancel Choir each week.
Preparation for Praise Team Sunday morning/practice etc.
Play hymns/music for Traditional Service.
Play for Special Services: Christmas, Easter, Holy Thursday, etc.
Play for Children’s Choir during Wednesday Practice and Sunday Services.
