Beginning salary range $36,000 - $40,000
Milford Hills UMC has a mission to love, serve, and live as Christ. We are currently seeking a Director of Youth, Young Adult, and Children’s Ministries to lead the Church’s efforts to develop and implement a comprehensive Discipleship Plan for youth, young adults, and children; educating them in Biblical teachings and helping them connect those teachings to service in the church, community, and world. This position calls for an individual with a passion for youth, young adults, and children, with the ability to create and implement a vision for these ministry areas.
This position leads the educational initiatives; supports volunteers and serves as a leader in educating/supporting young congregants in the practice of being disciples of Jesus Christ. Specifically, this position leads youth, young adult, and children’s ministry activities/programs, leads volunteer recruitment/training, and serves as a liaison between the needs of the Milford Hills UMC children through young adults and the Church internally and externally.
Position Requirements
· Understanding and the ability to teach United Methodist theology as it relates to growing children through young adult congregants into Disciples of Jesus Christ
· Distribution, ordering, and implementation of curriculum/programs/activities for all youth, young adults, and children, which could be both located at the church and beyond
· Be the face of MHUMC Youth, Young Adults, and Children’s ministries and connect our congregants with our community
· With the help of other staff, facilitate, lead, and build social media presence, groups, and connections
· Work well with the present staff, laity, volunteers, and community
· Ability to recruit, coordinate, and train volunteers and teachers
· Bachelor Degree with experience preferred; Associate Degree with 2+ years or no degree with 4+ years of experience may be considered
· Ability to complete and pass a criminal background check
· Valid NC Driver’s license and acceptable driving record
· Ability to pass a drug test prior to employment
· Weekends and Holidays required
