Primary Focus:
 
To lead and grow a Music Team that glorifies God through the use of contemporary Christian music to enhance worship for the Celebration Service. 
 
Status:  Part-Time (10 hours per week)
 
Supervised By:  Celebration Team Worship Leader
 
Primary Responsibilities:
 
Lead the Celebration Team Band and work with worship leaders to provide a meaningful service to those attending that service.  A heart for worship and the ability to motivate and encourage is essential.
 

  • Lead the Music Team to nurture the team’s growth both musically and spiritually.
  • Provide leadership that will create a caring and cohesive team.
  • Work cooperatively with the Senior Pastor and Worship Team Leader to choose music that will fit into the overall theme of each worship service as determined by the Senior Pastor.
  • Responsible for organizing and holding weekly band rehearsals.
  • Lead the Music Team Band in weekly Sunday services.

Experience, Education, Skills:
 
  • Previous experience leading a contemporary praise band is preferred.
  • Musical training in voice and/or instrument or experience.
  • Ability to play an instrument and/or sing is preferred.
  • Experience leading a choir or band is preferred.
  • Knowledge of praise and contemporary music.
  • Working knowledge of sound and video equipment.
  • Team-building skills, including conflict resolution.
 
Other Qualifications: 
 
  • Open to new ideas and change to meet the spiritual needs of the congregation and the community.
  • Possess a friendly manner when representing FUMC to the congregation and the community.
  • Have a strong commitment to First United Methodist Church Brevard and the desire to support its missions and ministries.
