Full Job Description
The Executive Director will oversee and be responsible for all aspects of shelter management, employee supervision and scheduling, budgeting and fiscal management and establishment of community relationships.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, non-profit management or related field or extensive experience managing shelters.
Preferred Qualifications
Non-profit management training or experience.
Experience working in or managing homeless shelters

Accountability
Reports to The Board of Directors
Responsibilities
Fiscal Management: Completes annual budget, Directs Payment of all invoices, works with accountant to provide reporting to Board of Directors, ensures annual audit
Personnel Management: Manages all aspects of staff including recruitment, hiring, training, evaluation, supervision and dismissal of employees.
Shelter Operation -- Writes new and revises shelter policies and procedures as needed and based on communicated desires of Board of Directors. Ensures shelter policies and procedures are applied equitably for all guests. Ensures proper supervision of shelter, coordinates meals and ensures room inspections and searches, when needed, are in accordance with shelter policies.
Campus Maintenance and Repairs - Ensures all campus repairs are completed in a timely manner.
Fundraising, Grant Writing and Donor Relations -- Recruits and works closely with fundraising team to raise needed operations and capital funds, maintains social media and website presence for purpose of communicating shelter needs and raising awareness in the community, speaks at churches and civic organizations to raise awareness of shelter needs, writes grants in conjunction with volunteer grant writers, maintains relationships with HUD agencies which provide rapid rehousing, grants, and database tracking, writes thank you notes to donors in a timely manner.
Volunteer Recruitment, Orientation, and Supervision -- Recruit and form good relationship with Volunteer Coordinator to develop and maintain volunteer policies and procedures; participate in volunteer orientation, establish and maintain relationships with volunteers.
Hours: Full time 40 hours per week, generally Monday-Friday 8AM - 5PM, some flexibility required.
Salary: $55,000/year + benefits
