Youth Ministry Leader Job Description:

Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church is a well-established evangelical congregation that loves God’s Word and has a heart to share the Gospel with persons of all ages. We are located in the southwest part of Winston Salem about one mile near an elementary and a middle school with plans for a new High School to be built in our area soon.


We are seeking a creative and energetic person or couple who can lead us in creating student ministries to reach out to the middle and high school students within this area. Ideally the candidate will be responsible for Bible Study and youth programming which may include training in discipleship, evangelism, praise/worship, service in mission projects in the local community.
 

The ideal candidate should have

  • Graduated from High School and is pursuing a Christian vocation (youth ministry preferred)
  • A growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ with high ethical standards
  • A passion for youth and their families to grow in faith together
  • Strong interpersonal skills with youth and adults (i.e. exceptional listener and communicator)
  • Self-starter skills who can manage the creation, planning, and implementation of youth student ministries including recruiting and training volunteers and publicizing events on social media
  • A desire to be a team player who is supportive of all ministries of the church
This a part-time position of 4-5 hours a week at $125 per week to start.  Additional hours will be compensated. Contact time should involve meeting with youth on Sundays from 9:30am – 11:30am, and Wednesdays from 5:00pm -7:00pm, and other times that the youth leader and youth may want to meet for special activities.
