Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries

As a vital part of Salem’s spiritual formation ministries for all age levels, this position will establish a relational ministry that supports the spiritual development of the youth and young adults–middle and high school through age 30–of our church and community. The individual in this role will create an atmosphere of welcome and belonging as they plan and lead activities that foster Christian education and fellowship. This position will facilitate positive experiences that build good memories for participants of being engaged in a culture that fully integrates them into the life of the church. Although this individual will not direct other age level ministries, they will work collaboratively with church leaders, especially leaders of children’s ministries, to create complementary programs and smooth transitions between age levels. The efforts of this position will align with the values of Salem Church and The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church and will be focused on fulfilling the calling of numerous passages of the Bible including, but not limited to, the following.
