Associate Director of Communications
The Western North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church is seeking candidates for the position of Associate Director of Communications This position reports directly to the Director of Communications, and would be located at 13924 Professional Center Drive, Suite 200, Huntersville, North Carolina. This is full-time, non-exempt position.
The purpose of this position is to support the Conference’s work in communications as a critical part of a comprehensive communications strategy, working with and reporting to the Director of Communications and contributing to website, social media, journalism, graphic design, analytics & strategic planning, and other communications channels. The Conference is seeking a passionate, detail-oriented storyteller who is excited to share in our mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
A demonstrated ability in social media, graphic design, and website management is required. The candidate selected will exhibit excellent communication skills – written, verbal and listening – as well as a proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe products, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, PowerPoint and Adobe Creative Suite. Canva is also desired. A Bachelor’s Degree in communications or a related field is preferred, with 3-5 years of progressively responsible experience required.
