Praise Team Leader
Job Description
The leader of the Praise Team will be primarily responsible for planning, organizing, and leading the music for the 8:30 worship service at Boone United Methodist. This person must be a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, be committed to building a group of musicians who lead a congregation in worship and be able to coach other musicians to enable them to perform at their best. The Praise Team Leader must be a proficient musician as well a good planner and team player who interacts well with band members, fellow staff, and people within the congregation. This person will join the work of this congregation to “love our community and invite all to discover life in Christ.”
Responsibilities Include:

Work with pastors and worship staff to plan weekly worship services
Communicate technical needs with tech director and director of Worship and the Arts
Develop music that fits with the general theme of the worship service
Schedule musicians for the weekly services
Conduct a mid-week rehearsal and a Sunday morning warm up and sound check with the band members and technical staff
Lead music at the 8:30 service
Participate in special worship services as available
Other responsibilities within reason assigned by the Senior Pastor and/or Staff Parish Relations Committee

The Praise Band Leader will work closely with the Director of Worship & the Arts, the Technical Director and the Pastoral Staff, but is directly supervised by the Director of Worship & the Arts.
Time Per Week: 8-10 Hours per week
Beginning Compensation is $12,000 a year
Compensation for additional events like weddings or funerals will be according to a fee schedule and will be the responsibility of the persons needing the services of the Praise Team Leader.
