Production Assistant - Huntersville United Methodist Church

Objective: Provides direct oversight of the audio/video/broadcast productions of Huntersville United Methodist Church (HUMC), primarily of the contemporary and traditional worship services which include developing, implementing and maintaining the production elements (audio, video, lighting, stage/sets and broadcast technologies). This worship experience could also include times away from Sunday morning, i.e. social media posts, podcast, interviews, digital communication.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience using:
- Both PC and Mac editing software (adobe premiere, iMovie, Final Cut)
- SoundCraft Si Impact digital sound board
- Sony HD - camera for filming
- Vimeo, YouTube
- Social Media outlets; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
- Skilled in the use of digital and analog audio consoles in worship production
- Good organizational skills; willingness to take on new tasks and to multitask
- Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence; grace under pressure
- Warm and hospitable interaction with staff, congregation and the public
- A servant leader attitude with a cooperative, team spirit

Duties:
- Work alongside the Director of Music/Worship to facilitate the online experience by using the elements of the live worship service
- Assist in video and editing of church digital media
- Develop a plan for the AV team to produce a thriving worship experience on Sunday morning
- Develop and implement a training plan for each volunteer team member
- Push and plan social media postings to help communicate what’s going on in the church
- Oversee the stage preparation of each worship service (stage design, equipment placement, screen presentations) to ensure a worshipful environment with limited distractions during in-person and broadcast worship
- Develop, maintain and implement the production elements (audio, video, lighting, stage/sets and broadcast technologies) for the contemporary and traditional worship services of HUMC
- Serve as the technology expert related to the broadcast and audio/video aspects of worship, including projection and screens, video cameras, theatrical and overhead lighting, sound and light consoles, live-stream broadcasting and recording, etc
- Ensure that each worship service is set-up in advance, properly equipped and staffed with volunteers for in-person worship and broadcast production as well as rehearsals
- Recruit, train, manage and schedule teams of volunteers in the use of audio/video, lighting and broadcast equipment for all worship services on the HUMC campus, bringing expert advice and insight on how to improve quality and functionality of worship broadcasts
- Collaborate with the worship staff, integrating audio/video aids for in-person and broadcast worship in all services on the HUMC campus
- Resolve worship production issues and set up a proactive maintenance program
- Assistance with the Church Administrator on weekly digital publications, such as the “E-News”
Time Requirements: Estimated 15-20 hours per week.
