Contemporary Worship Leader

Central United Methodist Church in Mooresville is seeking a Contemporary Worship Leader.  This is a part time position,  tasked with preparing and leading the music for our Open Door worship service.  The Open Door service provides inspiring praise music in an acoustic coffee house style   Requires piano and/or acoustic guitar skills, with vocal proficiency strongly preferred.  Will lead and coordinate a volunteer praise band, must have the ability to connect with the congregation through song introduction, leading prayer, and providing announcements as needed.  Other skills / abilities necessary: 

• Good verbal and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work collaboratively with, and accept input from, the Worship Team 
• Ability to learn and use Planning Center online software
• Coaching vocalists, instrumentalists as needed
• Scheduling volunteer band members and coordinating with media volunteers

Contact time requires Thursday night practice (approximately 2 hours) and Sunday mornings 8:15 to 10:15.  Outside planning and coordination time is flexible.  Salary is commensurate with skill level and experience.
