Church Administrative Assistant-Part Time

Triplett UMC is searching for a part time Administrative Assistant three days per week, twenty four hours.
Job Responsibilities: The church Administrative Assistant is a welcoming and competent presence in the church office that facilitates the efforts and work of the leadership of the church.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
- Prepares and types correspondence, including communication to members, ministry teams, ministers and agendas as needed
- Updates and maintains church records and membership files
- Maintains church's master calendar coordinating space use between church and outside organization
- Assist setting up a filing system for church materials
- Answers phone and provides information about the church. Returns messages and provides members with information as needed
- Maintains employment records and monthly payroll records for all employees
- Maintains office supplies, including ordering and purchasing materials
- Assist coordinating office supplies and other miscellaneous supplies as needed
- Assist coordinating volunteers to help with various office projects and church projects
- Process invoices, including preparing voucher forms, writes checks and mails them out, Maintain records of expense and income information
- Creates and maintains church mailing list of members and friends, and of various ministry teams and groups of the church. Maintains and prints mailing labels
- Coordinates worship and announcement information with minister and all other involved in Sunday worship
- Prepares weekly worship and special event bulletins, including copying, collating and folding
- Prepares and distributes weekly announcement sheets
- Maintains and updates the events calendar in print, on bulletin boards, and the website
- Prepare, format, and print the monthly newsletter. Gathers information from the various groups in the church who have monthly meetings
- Attends all staff meetings
- Responsible for performing other duties as required by the pastor and/or SPPRC
Associates/Bachelor's degree in Business/Accounting, work experience in accounts payable, nonprofit/church accounting, online precessing systems, and financial analysis is a plus.
Capabilities:
- Experience working in a church environment is helpful
- Detail oriented and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Proficient with Church Windows or similar system and Microsoft Excel, Word and Publisher
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to independently prioritize, multi task, manage workload, and adjust to change
