Title: Director of Children's Ministry
Reports to: Senior Pastor
Position Status:  Part Time (10 hrs./wk); salaried
Required Hours: Flexible, but to include Sundays 8:30-12:30

The Director of Children's Ministry works with staff to envision, develop, and implement a holistic program of Christian education and faith development for 
children from infancy through age 10.  The director will oversee the Sunday morning children's church and nursery as well as identify, nurture, and equip 
congregational volunteers and ensure that Safe Sanctuary polices are observed.  

Charlotte First is a medium-sized, progressive, urban church in teh heart of Uptown.  The children's ministry has seen steady growth over the past year and is poised for continued growth.  The program provides care and nurture for children with varying needs and abilities.  The position has the capacity to grow with the program.  

Qualifications Helpful for this Position:
   *Bachelor's Degree or higher, or equivalent experience, preferably with a background in early childhood education, child development, or religious education
   *Two years experience leading a children's ministry program
   *Training in working with persons with special needs
   *Progressive theology that embraces and practices inclusiveness
   *Ability to be flexible
